EUROTRAC constitutes the post-proceedings of Symposium 96, which was held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, from March 25-29, 1996. Symposium 96 was the final event of EUROTRAC, the joint European environmental project set up under the EUREKA initiative to monitor the impact of human activities on the troposphere over Europe.
The development and expansion of new and existing products and technologies has invariably brought detriment to the environment. Damage to forests, the decline of fish stock and the destruction of the ozone layer in the stratosphere, are all victims of air pollution.
