Product Description:
Sins of South Beach is the true story of one of the most spectacular renovations that any city has ever undergone and of the seedy underside that fueled its fire. Filled with sex, drugs, violence, and corruptions, Mayor Daoud's life and career embodied South Florida during the 1980s. Sins of South Beach is the story of the rise of a city and the fall of its architect - and serves as a reminder that power is intoxicating.

I was recommended this book by my wife who was told about it by a friend. In turn, I've told many of my own friends... Such is the appeal of this book which feels as if you are being let in on a massive secret while taking you on a highly entertaining journey. The world in Miami and US politics will never look the same to me after reading this fantastic book. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to know what true "dirty laundry" is... A+ in every sense of the word.

alex's book uncovers the truth and the dirt of south beach. he names the names of the corrupt and the high and mighty of miami beach. once you start reading you can't put the book down. what an enjoyable book,a book that tells it like it was and continues to be. I highly reccomend this book to anyone who wants to learn the truth of Miami Beach. Like president lydon Johnson said Miami Bech isn't part of the united states, when you read this book you will know why.

One of the best "tell all" books about the hottest destination in the U.S. Incredibly honest, open, sincere and painful! But it is about the truth which had to be challenging for the author. What a wild ride! A must read for anyone living in or visiting South Florida! I strongly recommend it.

I REALLY ENJOYED READING THIS BOOK, THEN HAVING ATTENDED THE MIAMI BOOK FAIR ON NOVEMBER 15, 2008 AND HEARING ALEX DAUOD SPEAK, REALLY PUT EVERYTHING I READ IN HIS BOOK INTO PERSPECTIVE. I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN. I EVEN HAD TO TAPE MY REALITY SHOWS EVERY NIGHT BECAUSE THIS BOOK GAVE ME MORE REALITY BETWEEN EACH PAGE THEN ANY SHOW ON TV. WILL I BE SEEING SINS OF SOUTH BEACH AS A TV SHOW OR A MOVIE SOON? I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS BOOK LIVE AND WOULD LOVE TO SEE WHO THEY GET TO PLAY THAT BACKSTABBER, ABEL HOLTZ!!!!

This is a must read! I live in South Beach, Miami and look at the town now from a new perspective. Mayor Alex Daoud has bravely written a novel full of twists and turns we as citizens could never have seen. The book contains all the ingredients for a "page turner"...sex, drugs, celebrity, money, power, and the beach. This exploration of politics, immigration, drugs, corruption, and sex will keep you reading cover to cover.
