This gorgeous outfit features a soft cream tone with traditional embroidery in tones of sage, burgundy, and beige. Four shimmering buttons enclose the front of the piece and a v-shaped neckline adds a touch of charm. Embroidery decorates both sides of the vented hem. The pants feature a zippered fly with a hook and eye enclosure.
These ensembles are crafted exclusively for Worldstock by talented Afghani women weavers. During a recent trip to Afghanistan, Overstock.com President Patrick Byrne and Worldstock Director Neelab Kanishka met with these artisans, most of whom are women who have lost husbands or fathers during the years of turmoil in this troubled land. Worldstock works with these women on a contract basis, and is now the largest source of employment for Afghani women.
Each of these ensembles is made by an individual artisan, so the embroidery pattern may vary slightly, adding to each pieces unique charm. Worldstock prices these goods as inexpensively as possible in order to drive up volume and create as many employment opportunities for these talented women as we can.
