I loved it! I can get sucked into books pretty quickly but this was good. I love books that make you think and do a little research after. (That is only if everyone in school classifys you as a nerd) I have always loved her books. I wasn't into the Among... series but I love how she has a mix. Like sometimes it is historical fiction and other times the future/fantasy theme. This book was good. It got me confused with the scientific terms but that is what internet and the dictionary are for. It also had a plot that was twisted and exciting.
The only con was the ending. It left you hanging. For the rest of the day whenever I got a free second I reached for the book but had to remind myself it was over. Now I am waiting to read the subsequent one. I don't know the exact day for book 2 (Sent) but I know it will be published in '09.
Just a warning before you read (this isn't a spoiler) be prepared to get confused. Unless you know a great deal about physics. Which I don't because I have hardly started taking physics. (I am taking it now but I haven't even reach midway) This is a fantastic book for anywhere from 12-100. If you are a Haddix fan or not. I know at very first I was like, "Yes a new Haddix book!" and then when I heard what it was about it seemed stupid. It isn't. So have fun reading and Happy Holidays!

I listened to the unabridged audio version of this story. After a mysterious plane shows up at the airport with its passenger seats filled with babies the authorities don't know what to think. 13 years later young Jonah receives a prank letter in the mail warning of something dire happening to him. Jonah thinks its a prank, but when his new friend Chip gets the same letter, they begin to unravel a conspiracy of epic proportions.
It is difficult to talk about why this novel wasn't my favorite story without going into spoiler territory, but I'll try. First, the good parts. I enjoyed Jonah and his relationship with his parents. I thought the author did a great job of portraying adopted parents and their relationships with their kids in a positive way, especially between Jonah and his parents.
But I kept getting frustrated by Jonah's behavior, particularly in his refusal to discuss his problems with his parents. The fact that Jonah continuously hides what is bothering him, just didn't seem realistic, especially given how great the parent/child relationship was. I felt he should at least told his parents about the letters and that other children were getting them.
I also felt this story was a tad slow. Things didn't really pick up until the end when the story takes a radical turn. I was getting bored by the events of the story up until then.
Overall, I thought this story showed some promise, but it definitely felt like the begining of a series rather than a stand alone book. I thought the prologue was the best part.
This is a novel suitable for children and teens.

Try as hard as I could my daughter just never loved reading. I would buy books, take her to book stores - nothing.
There was a book fair at school and she bought this book. She started reading it on the busride home. She has not put it down since. She is loving the suspense of the story. And for the very first time in her life when I called her she replied"Just one more chapter?" That is something I will never forget.
I can't thank the author enough. She has turned my non-reader into a reader. And I am buying her other books as well. Thank you for opening the world of reading to my daughter.

Found is a very great book by Margaret Peterson Haddix. It is a realistic fiction book.
Jonah just thought he was a regular adopted kid growing up in a perfectly normal life with two parents and a sister, until, a new kid, Chip, moved in about three months ago. He and Chip are pretty good friends and then, out of nowhere Jonah gets a letter that says you are one of the missing. This freaks him and Chip out and Chip goes home. About an hour later, Chip knocks on his door and says he got a letter too and that his parents have been hiding his adoption his whole life. Jonah and his family then go to the F.B.I. about his adoption and he discovers a man in the bathroom that tells him to look in a file on the F.B.I. agent's desk that holds the secrets to what really happened to get Jonah adopted. This then leads to Jonah going to an adoption assembly with Chip. Chip and Jonah then get taken into an unknown cave and...! You'll have to read it!
This book was one of the best books I have ever read. It has many twists and turns and gets you very curious. This book is best suite for 5th to eighth graders.
