Rated by buyers 1 out of 5 stars - Propagandistic dialogs
This is the equivalent of the Left Behind series for war hawks. The "novel" (more like a novella) is nothing more than a series of dialogs explaining how the US has been conquered by terrorist...Now that I think about it, this book should be classified as Science Fiction/Fantasy. This is flat out propaganda, and simplistically so, even the "war plan" is crazy...to the caliber of Independence Day (the one with aliens and UFOs). Does the author really believe the the American people would be so weak as to allow themselves to be conquered? That our love and loyalty to our country would be so superficial as to not see the changing tides? That after the lessons of 9/11 and from WWII (the Holocaust) that Americans would allow themselves to be corralled for torture and execution, without a fight?

The only amusing thing I got from this book was the fact that for some reason I kept imagining Fred Thomson (from Law and Order and once presidential candidate) playing the role of President Jared.

Rated by buyers 1 out of 5 stars - Disappointing
I wanted to like this book. I've heard many good things about Herschensohn and to the extent I can make out his premise I agree with it. Unfortunately this book reads as though the author submitted his story outline for publication instead of an actual novel.

Spoilers below--if it's possible to spoil this thing any more that the author already has.
The book is confused and confusing from the start. It's nearly impossible to sort out the good guys from the bad guys. The story, to the extent one even exists, is confusing, disjointed, haphazard and, frankly, just plain dumb. As near as I can tell, the head good guy has had a computer genius working on some kind of super dupper computer simulation for several years before the book begins. At a critical point in the "story" said computer genius is pulled out of thin air with a way to retake the United States using some kind of high tech computer generated video. The method and means are never explained in any coherent fashion, it just kind of happens.

All in all this is the most disappointing book I have read in a very long time, maybe ever.

Rated by buyers 1 out of 5 stars - I wanted to like this book
While I agree with the author about the threat of Islamic terrorism, I found this book to be simplistic in its writing and lacking explanation of major plot points. I have no idea how the enemy was defeated. It's fantasy science fiction beyond anything I've seen on Star Trek. It's not enough to like a book because you agree with the author, you need to be satisfied with the overall story. I was not. I was reminded of a movie released several years ago, "The Day After Tomorrow" which told of the impending doom of global warming. The film reviewer in San Francisco said something to the effect, While this movie lacks certain plausibility issues, I'm giving it 5 stars because everyone needs to see this and fight global warming. I'm sorry, but a bad movie is a bad movie, and a bad book is a bad book.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - A shout against the ever increasing political stupidity in our land
This isn't so much a novel or thriller or war book but instead it's a warning about how unserious we are as a country.

It's the author's endeavor to grab us up out of our chair by our shirt , slap us in the face, and say "GET OUT OF YOUR DAZE.... YOUR COUNTRY IS AT RISK"

A feeling that grows stronger inside me with each day.

Don't read this book for a plot, or its dialog, or its settings because this book in not concerned with that... read this book if you feel like you're in the ever shrinking population of people who realize that our nation is in extreme jeopardy..and it seems no one in Washington cares or is capabile of defending us.

The War against Jihadism began in Afghanistan but Americans should have CONSTANTLY been told.. week after week. that it doesn't end there. It doesn't end in Iraq.. It doesn't end in Iran...It won't end in Syria... the war is everywhere.

Everywhere that there exists those who wish to impose Sharia Law , there is the war. Who will win? Which side is willing to do what it takes to ensure its values endure?

Sadly, not us.

Rated by buyers 1 out of 5 stars - A shallow read
The plot is short and shallow with a subject and premise that could have produced a truly captivating novel. But this effort falls miles short. The premise is believable, but instead of a page-turner, what we get is a short novel that is a quick, but shallow and unsatisfying, read. The dialog often depicts at extreme length one politician explaining the constitution or a history of wars and treaties to another. Neither conservative nor liberal political characters are presented with believable depth. I am quite disappointed and in fact embarrassed for the author and publisher.
