Product Description:
HER ONLY OPTION IS DEATH

Sue Quentin has reached the end of her rope-she's desperate, and there's only one way out. Her plan doesn't include falling for Tony, the mysterious hit man she hires. He listens when she speaks and somehow convinces her that maybe her problems aren't entirely insurmountable. He even thinks her little potbelly is sexy. So he's a werewolf--everyone has flaws!

Sue enjoys being coddled by Tony, and, for his part, Tony likes the way Sue moans when he touches her. She begins to think she and Tony might have a shot at a future together, despite his unorthodox profession . . . and even though she doesn't know his real name.

But when Tony's enemies-not all of whom are fully human-decide Sue makes a perfect target, will Tony risk letting his darker side out during the day to save her?

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - interesting and unusual
Wow--this is a really excellent story, and the beginning of a series.

In the very first place, it's extremely unusual to read a romance written in very first person. And when that very first person is the hero? Unheard-of. I'd like this book just for that alone.

But then the story was good, too. A werewolf who's a mob assassin falls in love with a woman who hires him to kill her.

Rated by buyers 1 out of 5 stars - 2 books at twice the price and my identity stolen
I was sent 2 copies of this book, had to return it and ask for a refund, then I was only given half the money back for a untouched book until I appealed. On top of that my amazon credit card which sits in my dresser draw and has not been used on anything except amazon purchases, let alone left the house was used to purchase a string of meals in Florida. I have never been to Florida. Sure I canceled the card etc, etc, but the security breach can have only have a occurred thru this website or chase. No I have also only used my home computer for purchases and no other cards have been used.

Rated by buyers 2 out of 5 stars - weird
Very uneven blend of not very good paranormal with lots of bad mafia gangster stuff and a weird romance between unlikeable characters. Also, I'm use to a woman not a man being the main character, in very first person written romance/paranormal books, so that was weird too. Why anybody liked this book is a mystery to me.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Different and interesting
Loved this book - great well-rounded characters with interesting problems - it's a book to keep and re-read!

Rated by buyers 2 out of 5 stars - Could the characters be any less likable?
First of all I have to admit that I only read about 3/4ths of the book. It actually amazes me that I got that far because there wasn't a single likable character to be found. I gave the book two stars because the writing was good enough to get me as far as it did. I especially liked the smell descriptions although some phrases were way over used (burnt coffee anyone?). But the authors gave us a double whammy with this one - two protagonists that were utterly amoral and despicable. You learn in the very first few pages of the book that Tony, the anti-hero of the story, is a mob hitman. Well OK, it's certainly not unheard of for the protagonist of the book to be a killer. In fact, it's unusual for the main characters to not be killers in this genre. But then the book makes clear that not only is Tony willing to kill anyone for money (not just bad guys), he is also willing to rape and torture for additional money. Think about that - he has no problem raping and torturing anyone if you pay him more money. Does that include children, grandmothers, pregnant women? Where does he draw the line? Does he draw the line? I have to admit, that question piqued my curiosity in the same sick sort of way a plane crash does. After reading over half of the book my question was never answered and I was pretty certain it never would be. Tony turns out to be very one dimensional just like every other character in this book. What a waste!
Then there is Sue. I was really hoping we had gotten away from this kind of "heroine" back in the 1980s. She's completely wimpy, whiny, shallow and amoral. She thinks she's being used but she is actually a very accomplished user herself. I really dispise this type of character and she only got worse as the book went on.
I had to laugh at the idea that this book is in any way "cutting edge" or "new and different". Wake up people! The stereotypes in this book are as old as the mob. It's just usually in films and movies that are more directed to men. I guess with the sucess of "The Sopranoes" more of this stuff is being marketed to women.
So the bottom line is, if you enjoy stories about the mob with plenty of shallow, stereotypical characters, you might just enjoy this book.
