I bought this book for my daughter and read it for myself. It was a very easy quick read and held my attention. I enjoyed it as much as my daughter did. She has also read several other books by this author and has enjoyed them as well. I recommend it highly as it was suitable for my 10 year old and was thought provoking as well.

I could not put this book down. I didn't have a favorite part, but here is something about the book. I thought Sissy was a total brat, and Emma liked her because she didn't have a friend. Then Ali hated her and who would blamed her? But Even though I hated Sissy, I felt sorry for her. I kept thinking she was a brat, why do I feel sorry for a brat? Then I read the end and it all came together. BEST BOOK I EVER READ!!

I've always enjoyed Hahn's stories since I was in grade school. The very first ghost story I read of hers, Wait Till Helen Comes, is truly chilling and amazing. While Deep and Dark and Dangerous doesn't live up to "Helen's" legacy, it's still a good ghost story. I found it to be a tad predictable, but for a teen novel that's completely excusable. The characters were still well written with lots of depth (though I thought that the dialogue for the 4 year old character was a little unbelievable). All in all, an enjoyable read...couldn't really put it down. Despite it's being predictable, it was truly written in a way to keep the reader engaged. I recommend this for 9 to 15 year olds...and for those adults who have either been a fan of Hahn's or who want to read a good ghost story.

This was the very first book Ive read by this author. I got it from my sons school Book Fair. I wanted to read it before he read it to make sure it was age appropriate. I expected it to be a bit cheesy, and hokey. I was surprised! Its very good. The author was very elequent and descriptive. It was a page turner for me. I would say its not for children who scare easily. While its not gorey, it is a good chiller for 9 and up. Its got mystery and suspense. Whiles its a bit predictable, its still one of those books where you just cannot help but want to read it from cover to cover without interuption. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I definately look forward to reading more of her ghost stories in the future.
