Editor's Notes and Comments:

Product Description:
Saving lives is Jonah Stem's job-but he usually does it at the hospital, not at 3 a.m. on the dark streets of Manhattan. When he impulsively intervenes to save a beautiful woman from a man menacing her with a knife, killing the attacker in the process, he is transformed from an overworked medical student to a hero in the media spotlight. The woman, Eve Gones, is profoundly grateful, and wants to show it. Before long, they're engaged in a wildly passionate love affair. An affair that Eve doesn't want to end. Ever.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Great Psychological Thriller
After reading "Sunstroke" Kellerman's 1st novel I was looking foward to his subsequent book, but after reading "Trouble" I absolutley can not wait for his subsequent novel. After readinf this book you would have thought you just read a book from a very seasoned author not someone's second novel. The writting keeps you interested and on the edge of your chair, its only flaw for me was while Jonah was working in the hospital, it became very technical and meaningless to the story. The book was in parts a little disturbing and creepy,a little preverse and had a plot twist that I just did not see coming;everything you would want in a great fiction book. While this book will not be for everyone I thought it was exceptional, better than anything his parents have every written.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - Good, Creepy Book that Sags in Second Half
I really liked "Trouble" early on and midway through the book, I was actually hyping it for friends to check out.
Although there was some more creepiness in the final half of the book, I found myself wandering away from caring too much about what happened to any of the characters. Maybe I was just scared of Eve.
For veteran mystery and thriller readers, it is also a bit transparent who the cast of characters would be involved in the end-of-book climax scenes. You had to see that coming, right?
Overall, I enjoyed the book - his city descriptions are good - but it mired when we went into the hospital with Jonah and when, in this city of millions, this one woman kept finding ways to creep him.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - Another Kellerman can write
Jesse Kellerman proves that the whole Kellerman family can write a best seller. If you are squeamish about psychological suspense, don't read this book as parts of it are very disturbing. The protagonist handles some serious accusations and threats against him with surprising good common sense, a quality usually lacking in this kind of story. I like that so far, Mr. Kellerman has not fallen into the series trap of his parents which tens to make one book almost indistinguishable from the rest. Keep up the good work, Jesse.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Wholly compelling thriller
Read this book the same day I bought it - staying up into the wee hours to finish it. The writing was top notch, as was the pacing and characterisation. I read a lot of thrillers and I'd put this in the top five percent. Can't wait to get hold of the author's other books.

Rated by buyers 1 out of 5 stars - Stupid and unrealistic premise ruins story
This is an annoying book with a blatantly flawed premise!

Basic problem is that the author clearly has absolutely no idea about privacy laws - and assumes none of us do either. Basically, laws in most every state are quite restrictive when it comes to making unwanted or harassing phone calls. Generally, it takes no more than 3 calls for you to get the phone company to permanently block a caller. And not much more for the police to issue citations and misdemeanor charges.

The idea that someone can call you dozens of times a day for weeks with no recourse is completely ridiculous - especially since the protaganist is well educated, he has a 'smart' lawyer, and the police are involved.

And the fuzzy notion that you're SOL because the caller blocks their Caller ID is beyond stupid.

Not to mention the breaking and entering, and the physical assault. Geez!

Mysteries often rely on a favorable confluence of circumstances, but this is ridiculous.
