Female-Sleuth Abby Knight is fresh out of law school - by way of flunking out. She is smart and spunky. Her flower shop is named Bloomers (catchy name) and she is always scrambling for new customers so she can pay her bills. She has a knack for finding dead bodies and for solving the crime. She fantasizes about her new friend, hunky Marco Salvare, who owns a restaurant down the street from Bloomers. He is a former cop and part-time private investigator and the perfect crime-solving partner for Abby.
In Dearly Depotted, Abby is a bridesmaid in her cousin Jillian's wedding. Jillian has a habit of backing out of her previous engagements and since Abby is doing the flowers for this wedding, she is nervous that Jillian will call off the wedding once again. But Abby can breathe a sigh of relief since the wedding goes as planned.
Well, not quite......somebody finds a dead body and Abby is off hunting for the killer.
I really like this series and am looking forward to reading the subsequent book.

Abby Knight is a bridesmaid in her cousin Jillian's wedding. Will Jillian really marry Claymore Osborne? She's been engaged many times but hasn't made it to the altar yet. When the groomsman Abby is to walk down the aisle with ends up injured and can't make the wedding, she gets Marco Salvare, her hunky boyfriend and owner of Down The Hatch Bar & Grill.
Plus Abby is put on grandma duty to watch Claymore's 90-year-old grandma. When Abby loses the grandma at the wedding, she sets out frantically to find her. Unfortunately when she finds her, she's standing outside the gazebo where the dead body of Jack Snyder lays. He recently got out of jail. There are many suspects. Jack had gotten Jillian's cousin Melanie pregnant and dumped her. He and Melanie's dad Josiah went at it right before the wedding, too.
But the police seem to put their sights on Richard Davis for the murder. Grace, an employee of Abby's, is dating Richard and asks for Abby's help. Can she find the real killer?
This is one of my favorite series. The sexual tension between Abby and Marco is fabulous. Just enough information without going overboard to know it's there. Abby is such a wonderful sleuth, too. She can get herself into some terrible situations, but I don't find myself yelling at her or throwing the book like in some series. I usually read the books in this series in 2-3 days because they are so much fun and such an easy cozy series to read. I highly recommend this book and series.

A pleasant and a quick read. The characterizations seemed a bit shallow at times, and the language and plotting seemed a bit "square," for lack of a better word. I think Abby and the series have potential, though, and I think the B and C stories could be developed into something cute and interesting, too. I'll try another in the series for sure.

In book #3 of the Flower Shop Mysteries, Abby gets the job of doing the flowers for her cousin Jillian's wedding. Unforunately at the wedding, Abby stumbles across the body. Was it a guest at the wedding who is the murderer? Abby will find out, if only to get Jillian out of her town on a honeymoon!

I've now read all the books in the Abby Knight Flower shop Mystery series and all are well crafted, intriguing little mystery stories. The plot lines are realistic and easy to follow - yet complicated enough to keep you guessing. I never figure out the "who done it" - in these books - a good sign of a well written mystery. Nice, light reading that will entertain and keep you guessing - I love this series!
