Rated by buyers 3 out of 5 stars - Good start to this series
After completing one year of law school, Abby Knight realizes becoming a lawyer is just not for her. Instead she decides to focus on what she is passionate about: arranging flowers. She opens up her own flower shop, Bloomers, much to her mother's chagrin. Abby's brothers are successful doctors, with country club memberships. Abby was formerly engaged to Pryce Osborne until she realized he wasn't the man she thought he was. Her mother is constantly nagging her about the choices she has made in her life and hopes she will settle down and marry soon.

Next to her shop, her orange corvette is her prized possession. As she arrives to work one morning, her vette is hit by a grey SUV and the driver doesn't stop to see if she's ok. Abby quickly decides to take matters in her own hands when the police trivializes her report. Soon, she realizes that minutes prior to her car being hit, a murder took place blocks away from the accident. Abby puts two and two together and thinks the killer smashed her car while trying to get away from the scene of the crime. Despite her employee's, Grace, warnings about meddling in the police investigation, Abby finds herself in the middle and receives threats to back off the investigation. Abby enlists the help of her roommate and employees and not to mention, gorgeous Marco to solve the crime before anyone else is killed. (3.5 Stars)

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Fun read with a real, down home gutsy heroine
I liked this book and will recommend it to friends. My copy is currently sitting in my husband's "to read" stack. We joke that I am his personal reader and that he only reads the cream of the crop because of it!

Abby is a fun heroine. She does funny things, she does dumb things. Kind of like all of us. I figured out the end part way through but it was believable and the point of the book was the characters and not necessarily the whodunit.

The author has a fairly wicked sense of humor. I loved the way she holds up each of the characters for us to laugh at and with. Abby's roomate's "voice" with her cold was hysterical. Abby's mother's "artistic" endeavors hit a little too close to home! Her assistants at Bloomers show so much promise for the future. Her anorectic sister-in-law is like way too many people I have known. Marco is my kind of guy - the type who would punch a shark to save you.

Looking forward to the subsequent book in the series - with hopes that it just gets better and better.

Rated by buyers 3 out of 5 stars - Good Read
I enjoyed this book for a summer read. It was not a fantastically laid out mystery that had me itching to discover the culprit, but the characters are endearing ane relateable. It took a while for me to become interested in the plot and not until 2/3rds the way through was I really turning pages. I found myself smiling as I read about the poor orange vette and the capers of our heroine. This book is light, fun and loveable. I will probably read the subsequent installment.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - good
I like this author and book. Its a light-hearted mystery. You get pulled into the characters and their lives. The mystery isn't overly complex but enough to keep you there for it and the romance. Marco or Morgan which will it be. Stay tuned.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - I Can't Keep Mum About This Enjoyable Debut
Abby Knight, owner of the flower shop Bloomer's, started out that particular Tuesday high on life. Then some maniac backed his SUV into the front of her classic Corvette and drives off. Not one to suffer injustice, she gets part of his license plate and begins trying to track down the culprit.

Things turn interesting when Abby learns of a murder in a nearby apartment building. It happened just before Abby's car was hit. Could the killer be the person who hit her car? Can Abby and her car live long enough to find out?

I had been interested in this series because of the book titles alone. I love a good pun, and these are great. I finally took the plunge, and I'm glad I did. The book is filled with warmth, from the lovable characters to the writing style. There are several laugh out loud moments and plenty of grins. The characters are interesting and real. I can't wait to get to know them better in the other books. Abby does behave rather stupidly at times. Of course, only once did I completely disagree with her actions.

Unfortunately, the plot suffered a little. I didn't mind the fact that the book spent plenty of time dealing with things not related to the mystery since I truly like Abby and watching her with her family was highly entertaining. In fact, those were some of the best laughs of the book. What did bother me was the climax. While I had pieced things together myself, everything was way too rushed. Hopefully, that was a rookie mistake. I certainly intend to find out.

Whether you love flowers or not, don't miss this book. It's lots of fun. I look forward to reading more about Abby in the near future.
