Editor's Notes and Comments:

Product Description:
He's been hailed by Dean Koontz for his 'rock-'em, jolt-'em, shock-'em contemporary terror fiction.' Now Little presents a 32-story collection that could only have come from an author with 'a deft touch for the terrifying' (Publishing houses Weekly).

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - Bizarre, as expected
Well, if you haven't read Little, this will be quite the introduction. The stories, overall, capture his strange, spooky view of the world, sometimes laced with social commentary and sexual situations. If you like Little, this is a must read, since you can see the kernels for many of his longer stories developing. For those new to Little, you may think, what is this guy about? These are not typical ghost stories, but more reality benders. What if George Washington were a cannibal? What if some old women knocked on your door and thought you were a hit man? The answers are usually over-the-top, but intriguing. Some stories are better than others, therefore, the four stars. But overall, a good book for fans.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - hard to fathom what one mind can imagine
a very eclectic mix of subject matter, but bentley little demonstrates why he is a rising talent in the horror/suspense genre. who else can juxtapose a fornicating pillow with a family that goes a little too nutty about recycling? that's why little is one of my favorites.

Rated by buyers 1 out of 5 stars - The Collection is in my collection, but I never finished it.
A friend gave this book to me with a very positive recommendation. I will preface this review by mentioning that we are avid Bentley Little readers and find his particular brand of horror/humour very amusing. I own many of his books including "Dominion" and "Dispatch" two ridiculous but very intriguing stories.

While I love this author's ability to spin a unique and captivating tale, I must admit that the actual quality of his writing is often hideously poor. (ex- using phrases like " he stared deadly at it") The short stories don't have the ability to build interest like some of his novels, and therefore, without the development and suspense, are pretty boring. I read full force for a few chapters, then began to skip around, finally putting the book down unfinished; something I never do.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Very Entertaining!
Bentley Little has the ability to take common day to day life situations and turn them into horrific nightmares. This book contains 32 short stories written in this unique style. Many stories remind me of episodes from The Outer Limits or The Twilight Zone shows. So if you are into shows like these ones like me you will enjoy this book a lot.

Another thing that Bentley Little likes to include on his writing are sexual elements of the bondage type. He does it in a subtle way that is not up front but the element is there and the way he does it is very provocative. Bentley Little's writings are for the most part weird, disgusting and sometimes funny. I would not say scary but I am sure some might find some of the stories shocking. Overall this book is very entertaining to read, which to me, is the thing to look for in the horror genre. A good buy!

Rated by buyers 1 out of 5 stars - Nothing here beyond shock value
Another review here lambasts people for comparing Little to Stephen King, and that is a sentiment I greatly agree with - for entirely different reasons. King is a wordsmith whose work should be recognized as true literary art outside of the realm of strictly 'horror' fiction; Little's work is hackneyed and pure pulp, trumped up for shock value with very little beneath imagery used more to appall the reader than anything else. Each story in this collection can be likened to a low-budget horror B-movie: violence, gore, and very little plot worth noticing. Absolutely useless.
