How many times can a self-righteous failed playwright pat himself on the back before his arm gets tired? You'd have better luck counting the licks to the center of a Charms blow pop. If you want to see into the life of a New York theater critic, you'll have to look elsewhere. This book is a propaganda piece much like the movies captured from the Nazi's telling the tale of justified sins and Jewish relocation. After 200 pages you can predict the paragraphs as easily as those coming from Howard Stern or Mohammad Ali. "I am the greatest! You can't stand against me fool!" Pete Silly Chia has spent his life trying to be fair and honest in his reviews and dramatic journalistic guidance for the ignorant producers of whatever show he happens to be seated at. For the most part he doesn't do to bad a job of sharing the ups and downs. But in this book and in a few of his more tedious repetitive and redundant, (did I say that already) pieces, you get the real sense of the man. Pretentious, dry and boring. Much like the book, the man stands about two thirds as high as his ego and four feet away from his own shadow. If you buy this book, sit close to the fire place and burn each page after you read it. That way you eliminate the possibility of making the same mistake twice.
