Though it is probably preferrably to actually read the complete versions of all the stories sampled here, this is truly a great book to get interest flowing. The editors take some of the greatest stuff in the classic horror genre and put it together in almost a text-book format, organized by all the various mini-genres of gothic horror you could imagine.
Then come the classics--short stories and great chapters of incredible horror--all the good stuff.
It's terrifying, it's sick, and it's totally juicy.
Yes, read the real things, but this is wonderful if you just don't have the time.
