Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Great suspenseful story!!
This is my very first book by this author, but it definitely will not be my last! Wonderful suspense filled story with a great romance to go with it. From what I understand, this is the very first book in a somewhat series (some characters interlap). No need to go into summary detail, it's already been done here. Just wanted to give my two cents that this book will not disappoint!

Rated by buyers 2 out of 5 stars - Not the best...
I had high hopes for this book, and liked the plot, however, was disappointed.

The premise is good, woman escapes abusive husband with their son and starts a new life and makes good.

However, it was too much of a coincidence that her husband starts looking for her, just as she is striking up a relationship with her new boss.

I found most of the characters to be unbelievable, and at times, unlikeable. Mary Grace/Caroline, the heroine of the story, falls instantly in love with her new boss and within weeks they are discussing marriage, all this after a 7 year period of avoiding men altogether. Also, she cries at the drop of a hat. Her eyes were "welling with tears" every other page.

Max Hunter, the love interest for Caroline, had potential, but never really panned out. He is a man still feeling sorry for himself over an accident that derailed his career 12 years earlier, and blaming his "scars" anytime a woman pulls away from him.

David, the brother of Max, just happens to have shown up and to be around to eavesdrop on every important conversation that takes place.

Rob, the abusive cop husband, is by far the most ridiculous of characters. He is a cop who is corrupt as they come. He doesn't just abuse his wife, she is kept constantly in a state of bruises and broken bones and none of his cop buddies notice? He also kills anyone who gets in his way, or who he has perceived has wronged him. I just find it hard to believe that a man who is so violent virtually every day goes unnoticed.

As previously stated, I did like the story line so I finished the book, and this appears to have been the author's very first book so I plan to give her a try again.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Don't Tell by Karen Rose
This was the very first book I have read by Karen Rose. I was truely impressed. I could not put it down. It got my interest from the very beginning and I could not wait until I got to the end to find out what happened. I enjoyed most of the characters in this book. You just can not enjoy the bad guy though. I would definitely refer this book to my friends. I can not wait to read the rest of Karen Rose's books.

Rated by buyers 2 out of 5 stars - What a Drag
OK so I have read my fair share of books in this genre and also my fair share of very first novels by very first time authors in this genre, and I have to say, after reading all the glowing reviews about this book and others by the author I was truly let down. This is genuinely the very first time I have struggled to finish a book although Ive read some not so great ones in the past. I had to keep reminding myself that the two main characters were not in their 80s, just the way they spoke was so unrealistic. The actual suspense part picks up slightly in the middle but Rose totally failed to make me care one way or another about any of the characters and its that which makes an author great. However considering it was her very first book and her books seemed to get such high ratings I do plan to give it another couple tries before making any final judgments.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - WOW ! Excellent read...
There is simply nothing better than relaxing on your sofa, with a cup of tea (or whatever), and a novel by Karen Rose! Every one of her books that I have read (so far) have been 5 stars - even if the idea of falling in love (and bed, or couch, or stairs) within a week or two of meeting is a little far fetched, and with extremely handsome, sexy men (where are all these men anyway ???) Her books are still fantastic and grab the reader right from the start. I love how she will mention or write about a character, and then they make a repeat performance somewhere in another novel. It just makes her characters all the more "real" to the reader. I just wish I could eyeball some of these gorgeous men she writes about...then again, they probably don't exist in real life. That's why we have to read about them in fiction, I suppose. HAha
