Product Description:
My name is Sarah Dearly, and I've got major problems. Last month, I was turned into a vampire by the world's worst blind date. Then I may have, totally by accident, started a war between the mostly peaceful bloodsuckers and a bunch of sociopathic vamp hunters who have nicknamed me the Slayer of Slayers. Now I'm being used as bait to draw out the hunters' bad-ass leader, while my gorgeous 600-year-old boyfriend Thierry seems to be blowing me off, and my sizzle-hot, fanged friend Quinn is trying to turn my self-defense lessons into make-out sessions. So you know what? I'm done. I've had it. There comes a time when a vamp has to just suck it up and go after what she wants. And as soon as I figure out what that is, that's exactly what I'll do...

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - Better than the very first novel
I read Bitten and Smitten when it very first came out with very high hopes. Michelle Rowan is Canadian, the book was a light read, it's about vampires, and Amazon told me that if I liked MaryJanice Davidson's Betsy series, then I would like Bitten and Smitten. Before I read the book, I had just completed the very first four books in the Betsy series. Knowing what I know now, I wish I didn't do that because the writing styles are so similar that it just took me out of the whole experience. I didn't like Bitten & Smitten and was a little wary of picking up Fanged & Fabulous.

I'm glad that I did though, because it was actually a fun read. It also helped solidly my belief that just because I didn't like the very first book doesn't mean that I won't enjoy the second one in the series, or any book written by that author.

Does Fang & Fabulous still remind me of the Betsy series, yes it does, but I felt that it was more of its own story this time around. The characters were great, though I did like everyone else a little more than Sarah, but I liked Sarah too. There was one scene in the book where she learns Peter's last name. When I saw his name written I laughed, because it was Spiderman's name. After laughing, I found that Sarah was thinking the exact same thing as me. So I thought that was pretty cool.

The story left me with a lot of questions that need to be answered. Sadly, I'll have to wait for the subsequent Sarah book. Sigh.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Could not put this book down
After I practically read the very first book in the Immortality Bites series, Bitten and Smitten, straight through, I bought this book and it had the same effect on me. I do agree with some of the reviewers that the main character Sara could have given Quinn a better chance than he had. It does seem like they would have been a better match than Sara and Thierry, but obviously someone's heart had to get broken. I'm boycotting the third book in the series, Lady and the Vamp, because it follows Quinn around, and Sara is nowhere to be seen. It disappoints me, and although I was sad that Sara was being irrational, I couldn't put this book down and want to read more of Sara and Thierry and Quinn. Good read.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Fanged and Fabulous
Sarah Dearly has been a vampire for less than two months and is dating
a married, much older man with a drinking problem. At the same time
she manages to maintain her incorrigible and sassy personality. Now
the vampire hunters are intent on killing her, she is dog-sitting a
werewolf, she has agreed to investigate her best friend's husband, and
she has to let down her former friend.

Thierry de Bennicoeur is smart, sexy and rich. And thanks to his wife,
Veronique, has been a vampire for seven centuries. The years they have
spent `exclusively' together are few in number. Their official record
of vows has been lost in time. Sarah is a breath of fresh air in a
long, angst-filled life.

Thierry is perfect, minus his wife. Being hunted by the `Hunters',
having her best friend turn 30, and her bodyguards. Well, we won't go
into them. Life is not always safe, or sane.

Fanged & Fabulous is a smart, delightful tale of a new vampire
learning to deal with issues of life, love and the world. Ms. Rowan
writes with a fun style. That said, the climax of the novel was a bit
too anticlimactic for its buildup.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Fantastic and Fabulous
For those who loved the very first book, Bitten and Smitten (this reviewer among that group), Fanged and Fabulous is a fantastic sequel.

The novel pretty much starts right where Bitten left off. All the old, major characters are back, and even though it doesn't spend too long re-establishing the characters, I think if you hadn't read the very first book, you could catch on fairly quickly. Not that I advocate it by any means...

The plot's great and twist-y, the way I like 'em. I know I was surprised by all the turns it took. And without giving it away, yeah, nobody is who you think.

In short, our dear (oh, god, I'm punning again) Sarah Dearly from B&S is back, with her problems reborn and multiplied. Now she's the most wanted of the Toronto vamps, and all the world's hunters want to dust her. Well, maybe "goo her", but you have the idea.

Fanged is a touch hotter than Bitten. And we have a Thierry bite scene! Double the exclamation point on that -- it's hot!! Until it goes awry. Poor Sarah. But... it was hot. Poor Thierry. Back to cranberry juice. (A pitcher of which I drank while reading F&F.)

We have a good selection of new characters, too. Sarah's new bodyguards are fun. The burly and brawny man writes poetry for his unrequited love, blonde Janie-the-other-bodyguard. Who really grows on me. I like her.

And then there's Barkley. The lovable dog. Yes, totally lovable, as all dogs -- werewolves -- are. That's all I'll say on the matter. Nice doggy.

And for those who must know this part, yes, the vamp boys are hot. The way they should be, of course. Both of them. Always.

Also, I just want to say -- I really like the author's settings. I'm not sure whether it's a product of great description, or the fact that her vamps avoid the "Gothic" cliches with the ability to withstand sunlight, but... damn. I like the settings and end up saying, "Ooh, you know, that's such a great idea!"

Fanged and Fabulous rocks. Pure and simple. The sad thing is apparently the Sarah-verse is only due to run two more books, in Lady and the Vamp (of our hottie Quinn) and Stakes and Stilettos (back to Sarah).

In short, I love this series. I leave you with an urgent "go buy them".

What a fun book! Takes you on quite a ride. A nice roller coaster of vampire action.
