Editor's Notes and Comments:

Product Description:
Trophy wife Darcy McDaniel has just discovered that, thanks to her embezzling husband, her posh, upper-class life is gone for good. Now she's trading her suburban palace for a trailer park and her weekly salon appointments for a job. Darcy needs a new man--fast--one who'll keep her in the manner she darn well deserves. Problem is, the hottest prospect around is the my-way-or-the-highway hunk who's making off with her beloved Mercedes!

Ex-cop turned repo man John Stark is sure that hiring the furious woman in his headlights is a colossal mistake. He knows Darcy's high-maintenance, designer-labels-only type--after all, he's used to taking their cars. But he never expected this hellion to have the smarts and the spunk to go from receptionist to repo agent in record time...or to drive him insane with desire. She's the last thing this tall, dark, and dangerous loner needs...and everything he never knew he wanted.

I cannot recap this book any better than Mel for he hit it right on the head. I picked this book up cause I'm out of good light reads waiting for Crusie. Just beware of having nothing on your agenda for the day when you start to read this one. You fly thru the story anticipating what Darcy will do next.

This is my very first Jane Graves book and will not be my last. Her character developement of Darcy from needy to the strength and determination when she decided she wanted to be a repo man herself. her courage to overcome everything in her path. It was also great to see how Darcy changed/soften Johns character. Loved the secondary characters in this book and really would like to read about the billionaire and his bodyguard.

This book is a perfect beach or lay about the pool book. One think Darcy has is spunk for what she did to the repo man. lol

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Laugh Out Loud Fun!
This author is amazing!

Her quips and witticisms delighted me. She made me love her heroine from the get-go, EVEN though Darcy is a shameless gold-digger. Wow! That takes some doing.

First, Jane Graves got me to chuckle at Darcy. Before long she had me laughing out loud--which isn't easy to do. Then wonder of wonders, Ms. Graves managed to make me sympathize with Darcy. In a deft and brilliant stroke the author carried the reader to Darcy's parents who live in a trailer park. Without a word of backstory, we are able to understand the heroine. Darcy's mom is a complete hoot. She cracked me up with her "I'm the queen of Wingate Manufactured Homes Trailer Park" attitude. And yet, by the end of the book I liked the old gal. Well, liked is a strong word. Let's just say I understood her, and Graves gives the reader a lovely Ahhh! moment in relation to her.

These characters, although fun and deliciously comedic, had a sense of truth beneath them. The choices Darcy makes and her arcing changes are believable and, in places, poignantly difficult.

Loved this book! Don't miss it. Hot Wheels should've been a best seller.

Coming home to find strangers living there and all her things gone to Good Will does not inspire "good will" in Darcy McDaniel. Her husband has vanished, taking with him hundreds of thousands of embezzled dollars, leaving her high and dry, and ending her career as a trophy wife. With few skills and less experience, Darcy finds herself moving back home with her parents and the best job she can get is working for the man who repossessed her Mercedes, John Stark. Though the two butt heads from the moment they meet and have completely opposite tastes; she lives for Neiman's, Starbucks and all the finer things, while John is content with Wal-Mart, whatever coffee is on sale, and the simple life, there is a sizzle between them that neither can ignore. Darcy is also finding it hard to completely be immune to the charms (read pocketbook) of the millionaire who is offering her a ticket back to the good life, if she'll settle for being a mistress. This is the biggest test Darcy has ever faced as is forced to cram life lessons harder than she ever anticipated.

**** I must admit, I opened this book not expecting to like it and closed it cheering because it was wonderful. Darcy and John's chemistry is dynamic and sheer fun. Watching her adapt to a less than princess like existence is painful, yet humorous. Though none of the characters is perfect, as Stark points out, imperfect people are the most interesting. The pseudo-villain was not even perfectly rotten, and in the end, I found myself hoping he gets a story in which he gets to be the hero and redeemed. ****

Rated by buyers 3 out of 5 stars - Funny Chick-Lit
I laughed out loud so many times during this book and I'm a 'tough crowd' to entertain! Major bonus points go to "HWaHH" for the witty dialogue.

What kept this book from being a 5 star read for me was the low tension factor between Darcy and John. I like my romances a bit steamier. Also, Darcy's character got on my nerves a few times with some TSTL moments. There were a few too many 'convenient' plot devices used that had me rolling my eyes. John's character was not very appealing and I couldn't find much to love about him.

For a light and entertaining read, this was a great book. For a romance- not so much.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - Well-Rounded Characters, Fun Plot
This book was unexpected fun! The title is rather silly, but the book itself is well-written with well-defined believable characters. In fact, I liked it so much that I ordered three more of Sullivan/Graves books.
