On a local level, Annabelle Conroy, the most gifted con artist of her generation, is becoming a bit of a Robin Hood as she plots a monumental scam against one of the most ruthless businessmen on earth. As the killings on both fronts mount, the Camel Club fights the most deadly foes they've ever faced.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - Another Page Turner
Say what you will about David Baldacci, he continues to be one of the most consistant authors in America today. Occasionally he flirts with greatness as he did with his very first three books. Occasionally he veers off the tracks as he did with Simple Genius. For the most part though, he writes good page turners that pass a flight with ease.

That is exactly what he does with The Collectors, the entertaining sequel to "The Camel Club." Once again, the Camel Club finds itself at teh center of a conspiracy to sell intelligence secrets to foreign governments and terrorist organizations.

Like many of Baldacci's villians, Roger Seagraves is an entertaining character, though he is upstaged by nasty casino owner Jerry Bagger who will apparently continue to play a role in the future Camel Club books.

Con artist Annabelle Conroy joins the Camel Club in this adventure and her story line is one of Baldacci's most entertaining in years.

It isn't a perfect book by any stretch, but it is entertaining and that is all anyone could ever want from Baldacci.

Rated by buyers 5 out of 5 stars - The Collectors- worth collecting
Baldacci has written another excellent book. He usually stumps me for a while on who the real culprit is. I like the members of the "team" too.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - The old guys do it again.
I am not a regular reader of this author but found camel club to be quite enjoyable. This second installment is just as good. I love these old guys. The dialogue between them just sounds so much like what old guys would be saying in real life. They should really think about turning these books into movies. I could envision some older actors having a ball playing these guys. Can't wait to read the subsequent installment.

Rated by buyers 3 out of 5 stars - Only slightly better than the very first book in the series
The very first book in this series, "The Camel Club", was so poorly written and the plot so poorly developed that I almost believed it was a spy spoof. While "The Collectors" shows a bit of improvement in style, Baldacci still has a lot to learn about how to write a decent thriller. Right now he's almost as bad as John Grisham, except that Grisham's style and plots have actually declined over the last ten years.

Since "The Collectors" was a bit better than "The Camel Club" I'll hold off any further judgement until I read the subsequent book in the series, but I don't think there'll be much of an improvement. This subsequent book will obviously feature a battle between Oliver Stone, Annabelle Conroy, and Jerry Bagger - and Bagger makes your average movie Mafioso look like a genius.

Rated by buyers 4 out of 5 stars - Great Action and Story
Oliver Stones suspects there is a link between the assassination of the U.S Speaker of the House and the director of the Library of Congress rare books room. The Camel Club is joined by Annabelle Conroy, a con-artist who should be running for her life, but is instead aiding the group to solve this mystery.

All the members of the Camel Club lives are threaten by a ruthless enemy that once worked for the same ultra secret organization as Oliver Stone.

David Baldacci has the amazing ability to thrill and surprise in his novels and never disappoints with his Camel Club series.
