I had stopped reading Danielle Steele years ago because all her books are the same, they run on and on and on about some incredibly beautiful fragile woman/women who overcome every tragedy known to mankind. I bought this because I have 3 sisters of my own, but I wouldn't recommend it to any of them! What a waste to read! No more Danielle Steele for me!
It doesn't even deserve one star but I couldn't submit this with less!

I have not read a book of Danielle Steel for manny years - and I should have kept it that way! It was like it was written by a child (sorry boys and girls). The story about an family losing their mother, and a sister losing her sight could have been interesting. But the story was too poorly told. Sentences was repeated time and time again. I can not recommend this book to any one.

this book to me was just ok....this was the very first ds book i have read soooooooo?? i really wasnt impressed but it was ok it had a pretty good story to it.....something seemed a little out of reach but it hasnt totally scared me away from her books i will try another

I agree with most of the other reviews on this particular book, however, I am a big Danielle Steel fan and have read every book she has written. The one that got me started was "The Promise". From there, I just kept buying, reading and waiting for the subsequent one to come out. I have already pre-ordered her subsequent two novels.
Anyway, there are good stories and there are bad. (as with every author) The one I was most disappointed with was "Malice", which I thought was completely out of character for Steel and could not understand why she had ever written it. For those of you who think all her writing is the same, take a look at "Malice" and see if it changes your perspective. This will show you that all Danielle Steel books are NOT the same.

This was the second Danielle Steel book I have ever read (the very first was a long time ago) and now I remember why I do not read them.
I found Danielle Steel's writing to be very dull and repetitive. I felt as though I were reading the same thing over and over.
As if that weren't bad enough, the storyline was so unbelievable...it centers around a family of perfect sisters, each beautiful but with a different colour hair and each with either a high-powered career, fame, or a talent. Tragedy strikes perfect family, but don't worry, more perfect things happen and everyone lives happily ever after.
If you are after a very formulaic read, this is the book for you. If you want a book with an interesting plot and lifelike characters, look elsewhere!
