SCHOOL NIGHTMARE
The psychic investigators are going back to school–only this time to solve a baffling mystery. Every student who sits at one particular desk is suddenly caught in a train door and dragged away to who knows where. As if classes weren’t hard enough! And when Naru and Mai find themselves stalked by their own evil spirits, the case becomes even more bizarre.
Could this dastardly desk be the revenge of a quiet young girl named Chiaki? Or is there another unhappy soul to reckon with? One thing is certain: Voodoo dolls, bad vibes, and sinister curses won’t stop the psychic pals from solving their most difficult and dangerous case ever!

In this volume we again see the gang going to a high school to investigate a mysterious supernatural crime, but you can't help but wonder how so many mysterious things happen without it becoming a more everyday thing for the general public. A school has a mysterious curse on a desk that causes anyone who sits at it to be harmed or die. Of course Naru & all get called in to investigate, and inevitably their lives are put in danger.
Would I recommend this? For the most part, yes. I actually liked this, despite it's moments of tedium. It's still entertaining. Maybe it's not as consistently good, but it's still worth purchasing.

I really do love this series but this volume felt more forced in plot and contrived. The plot was still interesting however and this volume has the scariest drawing of a ghost in the entire series thus far! It's really creepy with a woman coming down from a ceiling a pulling a syth out of her mouth. I think the biggest turn off in the volume is that the monk was actually a musician with being a monk part time? One word - weird.
Overall, there is really interesting dialouge (oh that is so not spelled right) on PK abilities and fradulent PK. Plus you find out more on Naru's assistant. If you are a fan of the series you'll probably get it just to follow the story, but as a stand alone volume it isn't fantastic.
