Product Description:
When the home of Alex Cross's oldest friend, Ellie Cox, is turned into the worst murder scene Alex has ever seen, the destruction leads him to believe that he's chasing a horrible new breed of killer. As Alex and his girlfriend, Brianna Stone, become entangled in the deadly Nigerian underworld of Washington D.C., what they discover is shocking: a stunningly organized gang of lethal teenagers headed by a powerful, diabolical man--the African warlord known as the Tiger. Just when the detectives think they're closing in on the elusive murderer, the Tiger disappears into thin air. Tracking him to Africa, Alex knows that he must follow. Alone.
From the author Time magazine has called 'the man who can't miss,' CROSS COUNTRY is the most heart-stopping, speed-charged, electrifying Alex Cross thriller yet.

I do not think that James Patterson has really written a good book since "Along Came a Spider" (which was excellent.) I am tired of being disappointed by his predictable, thrown together story lines. This is the last of his books for me.

I enjoyed this novel and I've read Alex Cross stories before. This was definitely different, but not in a bad way. We see a new, desperate, edgier Cross, confronted with forces he can hardly comprehend. He has to discard his lawful approach to justice and survive according to the laws of the "jungle." There was depth to this character. although I really couldn't take his nose getting broken one more time....

I'm a big fan of James Patterson. I was so excited when I seen a new James Patterson novel coming out. I have to admit tho I was disappointed in Cross Country. If I hadn't seen the movie Blood Diamond I would have enjoyed Cross Country more. It seemed he took a lot of his writing from the movie. He didn't include Sampson in this book as much as his others. There were no comic relief sections to relieve you from the action. I think he should have stayed in this Country instead of crossing countries. Cross Country (Alex Cross Novels)

I will admit this is not the standard Alex Cross fare but it was still a good read. Unbelieveable, at times yes, but that is why it is called fiction. In some ways it was very sad.....what is going on over in Africa, Darfur, etc. I believe what Alex was trying to do was not what we as readers expect of him, we know he is a lot smarter, but it might be one of these times where Mr. Patterson is just trying to open our eyes to some of the atrocities going on in Africa. Movie stars, authors, and singers are always pushing their agenda so take this book for what it is worth -- a good read, a sad story and a plea that we should all be willing to help others. Maybe not what you signed up for when you read and bought the book but I for one am glad I did.
I look forward to reading about Alex's adventures in future books.

Another "Can't put down" book by James Patterson. I didn't know there could be anyone worse than Kyle Craig, and maybe there isn't. Where is Kyle? I was scared to continue reading but couldn't put the book down.
Brava Brava to James Patterson. Can't wait for the subsequent Alex Cross.
