Product Description:
While the world carries on unawares, Stryker, who leads an army of demons and vampires, is plotting an all out onslaught against his enemies—which, unfortunately for us, includes the entire human race. To avenge his sister, Stryker prepares to annihilate the Dark-Hunters. But things go awry when his oldest enemy returns. Enter his ex-wife. Zephyra. Just when he thought nothing could stop him, he’s now embroiled in a centuries old war with a shrew who gives new meaning to pain.

I may be in the minority, but I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was refreshing change and a daring move for Sherilynn Kenyon to tell a romance from the perspective of two villains and not to have the villains be redeemed in the end. To have a romance novel end with the heroine evilly plotting against the human race in the end was hysterical! I also liked the fact that Sherilynn Kenyon finally decided to tell a story from the Daimon perspective--I always felt that they got the short end of the stick in these novels. However, I do feel Sherilynn Kenyon is getting too lost in the elaborate mythology of her own world--which in this novel was getting confusing and a tad tedious. However, generally, I did enjoy this novel.

I never liked Stryker. I darn sure do not like his nasty Queen Zephyra. I was not at all interested in Their HEA. But, I enjoyed this book. I loved checking in on Ash and Tory, Savitar, Nick, Simi and meeting a potential demonito friend for Simi (Nimrod). I always like seeing Katra and Sin because I hated their book and SK needs to redeem them. Anywho, the bad guys were horrid. The Gallu must go. I do not mind all the new characters as long as the old ones are brought back. However, that trick which the Daimons now possess makes me mad. They now have a one-up on the Dark Hunters. I loved Savitars and anybodies witty arguments. Him and Apollymi, OMG?? I enjoyed the book, but I cannot possibly cheer for a heroinne that enjoys enslaving & torturing any being. And, I did not like Medea. She seemed a little childish for someone who had a child and was previously married.

I liked how SK gave insight to the evil character Stryker, let you see his jaded point of view but still kept him evil. Stryker is betrayed as an evil individual who has a moral code -- even if some of his tactics are less than ideal. He is after all one of the main bad guys.
The story is a fast and enjoyable read, just like the rest of the series. You usually don't see a story from the bad guys point of view. I can't wait for the subsequent book!

Kenyon is an amazing talent. She can write a book about a bad guy, make him the hero of his own story, and still keep him a bad guy! The characters and detail of this imaginative world are continually entertaining. Can't wait for the subsequent one. I'm glad she's chosen to share her creations with us.

I had a feeling this wasn't going to be my favorite Dark Hunter book and it definitely isn't. My advice is to check it out at the library and save your money for the subsequent one.
I had a very hard time keeping some of the names and origins straight. I don't mind having to think while I'm reading but this was a little extreme. It's also very hard to enjoy when the main characters are so unlikable. How can you like someone who enjoys torturing?
The best parts of the book were about Nick and Ash but the main characters really should have been just a sidenote in another book. They certainly didn't warrant a book of their own.
