Product Description:
It took everything in Teresa Farr’s power to return to her hometown of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Eight years earlier, she had walked in on the savage murders of her father and stepmother—both of whom she hated. She barely managed to save herself and her eight-year-old stepsister, Celeste. But even after notorious serial killer Roscoe Lee Byrnes confessed, people still wondered if Teri was the guilty one. And with Celeste unable to remember that night, or to speak at all, those suspicions never went away…
Now Celeste is beginning to remember. Now Byrnes has recanted his confession. And someone is using a series of bizarre, taunting events to exact terrifying “justice.” As Teri desperately races to uncover the truth, she’s finding that everyone she loves has secrets they would kill to keep buried. And in the bright mountain sunlight, an evil concealed all too well is reaching out to silence her and Celeste forever…

I have read most of Carlene Thompson's novels and this one is just as great as all of her others!! I look forward to her subsequent book!! I have yet to be able to figure out the villian before they are revealed. She does a great job of keeping me guessing. Wonderful read!!

I have read every single book by Carlene Thompson, and not one has ever disappointed me.
Some books by other authors I have a hard time getting into. But from page 1 to the end of this book, I found it hard to get OUT of. I couldn't put it down.
I look forward to more books by her.

Personally, I feel that this is just another feather in her cap. It never fails that in every book, I feel as if I am right there living with the Characters as if I know them very well. Their personalities, their likes, dislikes, etc. I am awaiting her subsequent book with baited breath.
Just a note... Teri is a well known nickname for Teresa. The "poster" that wrote a poor review seemed to be so upset with just that one sentence where the names, Teresa and Teri were introduced. It really is a shame that you could not get past that because the book was excellent.

I enjoyed this book a lot because Carlene Thompson is a great writer. However, I did think it was one of her weaker efforts.
This one just didn't seem as smooth as her past novels. At the beginning of the book, it seemed like Sharon and Carmen would turn out to be major characters. However, Sharon's storyline seemed to branch out on its own and have nothing to do with the main storyline, while Carmen basically disappeared after her initial scene until about halfway through the book. I also thought the romance between Teresa and Mac moved way too quickly based on their backstory.
However, you'll never be disappointed in a Carlene Thompson novel, so it's definitely worth the read!

I couldn't get beyond 40 pages because either the author went nuts or the editor. Please tell my why in one sentence she says the name Teresa and Teri. Am I missing something here? Is there a hidden meaning, a split personality? It drove me so nuts that I couldn't continue on with the book and I'll just donate it to the Friends Club at the local library. Maybe someone else will enjoy seeing one person continually get called two names in one sentence.
