Not the typical Scottline. The herion, although strong, seems conflicted. This does not take away from the plot, which in Scottline fashion has many twists and turns. Can't figure out the reason for the title. Who picked it out? Anyway it's still worth reading.

I have read many of Lisa's book --- primarily those involving Bennie Rosato. I decided to try one of her others. What I noticed particularly was that the story seemed contrived --- huge coincidences occurred to lead her through solving the case. In the last few chapters, I found myself saying, "Oh, please!" more than once because I couldn't believe what just fell in the characters' laps. I actually listened to this one as an audiobook --- When I got to disk 7, I packed it up and returned it to the library. I didn't need to read any more -- There were just so many improbable occurrences in the book, and contrived plot lines.

Lisa Scottoline delivers yet another great story about a woman who is learning that sometimes you just have to do what's right for you. Nat Greco's character is struggling with finding her identity in a family that doesn't seem to take her as seriously as they should. She proves that she has much more going for herself than they all realize in this compelling legal thriller. A must read for any woman who is trying to break through her own barriers.

Another great book from Lisa Scottoline. She's not as funny as Janet Evanovich but the book is quite humorous and a really intriguing plot. If you like humor, murder and mystery this is it,

This was my very first time reading the work of this author, and although I am willing to give her a second chance and search for more of her work, I hope it is not as big of a let down as I found this particular piece. It was simply a bit laughable and absurd to witness a grown professional woman such as Scottoline, trying to humour her readers with 'slang'. I understand the need for character development that keeps current, but if I want to hear terminology such as "For reals?" and "Yo", I'll watch a cheesy teen flick. Note to Scottoline....keep your children away from your manuscript. I love my teenager as much as the subsequent Mother, but reading is my ESCAPE from real life. And I prefer my conversation a bit more mature. The entire book in fact, was a bit boring at one end, and completely over the top at the other.
